The cover image, "Monkey Engine," was created by Anzovin Studio (www.anzovin.com), a 3D animation company located in Amherst, MA. It depicts a character from the studio's short film "Monkey Engine," currently in development.
Monkey Lad and the background elements (free adaptations of Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine and several Victorian-era machines) were created using Hash Animation Master for both Mac and PC. Raf Anzovin did the main character design and rig; parts of the monkey and background were modeled and surfaced by Bill Young, Morgan Robinson, Nat Stein, Deb Osgood, and Robin Johnson. Steve Anzovin did the final comp in Adobe Photoshop.
Anzovin Studio also publishes character modeling and animation tutorial CDs and add-on software for Animation:Master and other 3D programs; all are offered by Creation Engine.
